Smoky Wonder
Having fought wildfires in the 70's and 80's I can attest to wildfire's terrifying power. Yet there is beauty in this force of nature if you can stand back and find it. Because my work these days addresses smoke impacts to communities, firefighters and roadways, my images from wildfire incidents typically reflect a dynamic defined by carbon and ash. It is not healthy to breath in this toxic mix of particles and gases. But, from afar, perhaps you too can appreciate the form and texture smoke plays upon a landscape.
